Alvin ISD CTE Center

Client: Alvin Independent School District
Market: K-12 Education
Discipline: Architecture + Interiors
Project Area: 131,000 sq. ft.

As part of Alvin ISD’s (AISD) 2013 Bond Program, PBK was selected to perform Master Planning for the district’s existing Career & Technology Education (CTE) programs and facilities. An intensive planning cycle evaluated and validated both educational program demands and facility requirements for the 14 (of 16) Achieve Texas Career Clusters offered by AISD. The emerging implications of recently passed Texas legislature (HB 5) were folded into the planning of both program offerings and facility needs. PBK facilitated several meetings with district administration and faculty that yielded several conclusions. Ultimately the selected option involved renovations to CTE facilities at two existing high schools, incorporation of PBK’s program in the planning of their newest high school, and development of a new, district-wide CTE facility to be located geographically center to the district.
