The Xian Jiaotong University Xixian Campus forms an important part of the China Western Innovation Port which is a national level legendary Sci -Tech project with over 17,200,000 SF of buildings. PBK and a local partner company formed a joint team and won the Design Bid competition and was assigned the 1,975,500 SF Complex 3, “Gongxing Hall” on the campus through the design and construction phases. The complex is keenly focused on leading-edge material science and engineering, electricity science and technology research in an interdisciplinary study approach.   The facility was planned and designed before the research and faculty crew were hired.   The Modular Lab concept was adopted featured by NexGen Learning Environment concepts such as Collaborative Flex with “White Room”, Research Collaboration Suites, etc. The newly occupied facility nationally has become a highly-sought after research center.

Working as a part of the International Project Management Consulting team (IPMC), PBK provided Owner’s Representative services including monitoring, quality control and evaluation consultancy related to the design and construction, as well as the provision of products and services for all phases of this enormous Health campus project.

The Basaksehir Istanbul Integrated Health Campus is a comprehensive regional medical facility providing medical care for a wide range of services on the outskirts of Istanbul in the Republic of Turkey. The facility is a part of a major healthcare improvement program being developed through the Public Private Partnership Model as directed by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Turkey and includes over 7,766,00 SF of total area.  The facility includes a six-hospital specialty medical cluster comprising 6,661,000 SF of area providing a 400 Bed General Hospital, a 300 Bed Women’s Hospital, a 250 Bed Children’s Hospital, a 250 Bed Orthopedic/Neurological Hospital, a 150 Bed Oncology Hospital, and a 150 Bed Cardiovascular Hospital each with a distinct identity and dedicated entrance. The medical cluster includes a comprehensive Emergency Medicine Center along with full Diagnostic and treatment Services for the full-service nature of these diverse medical specialties. Outpatient clinic facilities for each specialty is provided in close proximity to each specialty and a major underground parking structure is included to provide convenient access for patients and visitors. A perimeter vehicular circulation loop is provided to allow direct access to each medical specialty. The medical cluster includes full services for Imaging, Surgery, Laboratory, Pharmacy, and all associated needs for a comprehensive medical campus.

The PBK team redefines each public space by combining existing building spaces. The team added architectural features suitable for contemporary higher education concepts, such as small cafes, I-BARs, outdoor rest platforms, and small collaborative spaces (HuddleRoom). At the same time of enriching public space, the design provides a small place for reception, rest, and discussion at any time for each college, enhances the staying of public space, and guides students to change the traditional learning model that depends on the classroom. The design also uses various design methods to integrate the professional characteristics and logos of different colleges into public spaces organically. With sustainable materials and theme colors, it increases comfort while improving the public space of the College of Science and the sub-halls of each major. Recognition and modernity increase professional identity and pride for teachers and students. At the same time, on the basis of highlighting the atmospheric quality of Nanke, modern architectural design techniques and international advanced materials and instruments are used to effectively improve the quality of teaching.
