Journeyman International

Journeyman International is a nonprofit that designs green humanitarian facilities. JI’s projects are designed by volunteer architects and engineers from universities and professional firms. PBK employees hold meetings with students partnered with JI, giving them architectural advice and support. PBK is the sole Angel Sponsor of JI, meaning we provide financial means and professional, architectural support to execute these projects Recently, PBK sponsored the Chiedza Solar Village (pictured above) in Zimbabwe, which aims to positively impact a rural area through solar energy and sustainable farming features. Bo’s Place

Employees serve meals quarterly to families at Bo’s Place, a bereavement shelter for children and families.

School Career Days

PBK employees spend time teaching students about their profession as architects.

Children’s Fund

In San Bernardino County, PBK serves the Children’s Fund, which assists foster and homeless children. PBK donates toys during the holidays, backpacks at the beginning of the school year and even creates blankets for the organization.

Child Advocates

Houston employees volunteer at Childspree, Child Advocates’ annual back-to-school shopping event. These volunteers were personal shoppers for the children, helping them pick out back-to-school clothes.

Boys and Girls Club

Our SIM-PBK Fresno office donates backpacks at the beginning of each school year. They filled each backpack with pencils, crayons, markers and more.

ACE Mentor Program

PBK employees mentor high school students in the professions of architecture, construction and engineering to support advancement in the industry.

Elf Louise Christmas Project

Each holiday season, the San Antonio office volunteers over a weekend to deliver gifts to families across San Antonio.

American Heart Association

We are proud to volunteer with the AHA and sponsor their Northwest Harris County Go Red For Women luncheon.

Women in Architecture

PBK women participate in various programs promoting women in architecture. They lead workshops, network with other women and mentor younger architects in their profession.

Canstruction

The competition challenges teams of dedicated architects, engineers, and contractors as well as students to build amazing sculptures using canned goods. These supersized masterpieces are juried by a panel of recognized community leaders who select the best from the entries. All canned goods are donated to the local food bank.

Bark + Build

The Dallas office competes in the Bark + Build competition, which raises awareness and support for SPCA of Texas’ mission. Teams design and build dog houses that are auctioned off and all proceeds go to the SPCA of Texas.

Citizens for Animal Protection

PBK is involved with Citizens for Animal Protection in Houston, which shelters, rescues and places homeless animals in homes; advocates for animal life; provides humane education and raises awareness of animals’ needs.

Interfaith Ministries

PBK is involved with Interfaith Ministries, which brings people together for dialogue, collaboration and service through a variety of services. PBK is also represented on the board at Interfaith Ministries.

FFA

We are proud to support the FFA, a youth leadership organization that makes a positive difference in the lives of young people by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agriculture education.

UNICEF

We are proud to support UNICEF, also known as the United Nations Children's Fund. UNICEF is a United Nations agency responsible for providing humanitarian and developmental aid to children worldwide. We most recently received the Humanitarian Award.

Wounded Warriors

Homes for Wounded Warriors was formed by Jared Allen after returning home from his United Services Organizations trip to U.S. military bases in the Middle East. Its mission is to raise money to build and remodel injury-specific, accessible, and mortgage-free homes for critically injured United States Military Veterans returning home from Iraq and Afghanistan. PBK is helping design a custom home for the veteran's unique needs.

Houston Food Bank

Each Thanksgiving, the PBK team collects and donates items for the Houston Food Bank to help put food on the table during the holidays.

St. Vincent de Paul

St. Vincent de Paul is a worldwide organization of lay Catholics, following Christ's call to serve the poor, the suffering, and the deprived. Each year during the holiday season, PBK adopts a family and provide gifts, clothes and donations.
